As a singer, dancer, actress and musician, Raquel is your, "Neighborhood Quadruple Threat!" This East Bay native has performed all over the world including Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Russia and the Caribbean as a singing entertainer. She has also graced the stages of The APOLLO Theater in Harlem as well as The Metropolitan Room - New York, where she headlined her own concert.
With acoustic guitar in hand, her sound has been heavily compared to Lauryn Hill and India.Aire with her mixture of Jazz, Soul, and Folk. Over the years she has developed her own unique style, calling it, "Acoustic Gospel Soul.” She writes and arranges her original music and coming from a poetry background her lyrics are deeply moving and thought provoking. The eclectic blend of sounds will keep you grooving as well as captivated.
In addition to being a singer/songwriter, Raquel is a graduate of AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Musical Theater. She has classically trained in all styles of music, theater, dance in Los Angels and New York City. Raquel has been giving back by teaching at-risk youth Performing Arts classes since 2008 and is currently recording her debut album at Platinum33 Studios.
